We collect as little as we can, and almost all of it is an email address.
The rest of this page explains the details.
This website, decentandordered.com (the "Site"), and the products sold through it are operated by Well Ordered Resources LLC, a limited liability company organized under the laws of the State of Missouri, doing business as Decently and In Order ("we," "us," or "our").
For anything on this page, write to help@decentandordered.com.
Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record. They collect your name, email address, billing address, the tax information their obligations require, and your payment details.
What reaches us is the order record: your name, your email address, the country and region used for tax, what you bought, and when. That is what lets us send you your files, answer support questions, and honor a refund.
If you download the Governance Health Check or any other free resource, or sign up for our list, we collect your email address, and your name if the form asks for it.
We do this so we can send you the file and, if you have opted in, occasional email from us. Claiming a free resource adds you to our email list. You can leave at any time, and nothing you already downloaded is taken away.
If you use the contact form or email us, we receive your name, your email address, anything you attach, and whatever you choose to tell us. We keep the correspondence so we can help you and remember the conversation if you write again.
One request. If you are asking us about a real situation in your church, please describe it without naming the member. We do not need the name, and we would rather not have it.
Our Site is built and hosted on GoDaddy, and we use Google Analytics to count visits.
Between them they record pages viewed, approximate location based on your internet address, browser and device type, how long you stayed, and how you arrived at the Site. This is counted in aggregate. We use it to see which pages are useful and which are not. We do not use it to build a profile of you, and we have not turned on Google's advertising features.
Our contact form is protected from spam by Google reCAPTCHA, which is subject to Google's own privacy policy and terms of service.
Your payment card. Lemon Squeezy processes every payment. Full card numbers never reach us and we could not retrieve one if we tried.
Your church's records. This one matters, so we will be plain about it.
Our products include a Deadline Calculator and Member Tracker, letters, and forms. These are files on your own computer. There is no account to create, no cloud service, no sync, and no login. When you type a member's name into the tracker, that name stays on your machine and in your church's own files. It is never sent to us, and we have no way to see it.
The names of your members, the phase a member is in, the letters you send, and every decision your leadership makes about them are yours alone. We built it that way on purpose. These are pastoral matters, and they should not be sitting on a vendor's server.
We use your information to do these things and nothing else:
If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, our lawful bases are performance of a contract for delivering what you bought, consent for marketing email, legal obligation for tax records, and legitimate interests for support, security, and basic site statistics.
We use three companies to run this business. Each one sees only what it needs, and each has its own privacy policy.
Lemon Squeezy processes payments, calculates and remits tax, issues invoices, delivers your files, and hosts our email list. Their privacy policy is at lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.
GoDaddy hosts the Site and runs the contact form and the subscribe form. Their legal terms are at godaddy.com/legal.
Google provides the Analytics that count our visitors and the reCAPTCHA that keeps spam off our contact form. Their privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety. We will not do so quietly if we are permitted to tell you.
We have never sold or rented your information and we never will. We do not run advertising, we do not use advertising networks, and we do not share our list with other publishers, ministries, or vendors.
Receipts and delivery emails are part of the purchase. You cannot unsubscribe from those, because they are how you get your files.
Everything else is optional. If you are on our list, expect an occasional note about a new resource or a practical point of church governance. Not often, and never rented to anyone.
Every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. It works right away, no reply and no explanation needed. You can also just write to help@decentandordered.com and ask, and we will take you off.
The Site uses cookies for two purposes: to make the site work, and to count visitors in aggregate. The counting cookies are set by Google Analytics. You will see a banner about this the first time you visit.
You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. The Site will still work. Nothing on it requires an account.
If you would rather Google Analytics never counted you on any website, Google publishes a browser add-on that turns it off everywhere, at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Wherever you live, you may ask us to:
To do any of these, email help@decentandordered.com. We reply to every message within two business days and will complete the request within 30 days. We will not charge you, and we will not make it difficult.
If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, you also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent at any time, and to complain to your national data protection authority.
If you are in California, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and why, to request deletion, and not to be treated differently for exercising those rights. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We are a United States company and our service providers store information in the United States. If you are writing to us or buying from outside the United States, your information will be transferred here and handled under this policy.
The Site and our products are for church leaders and administrators. They are not directed to children, and you must be at least 18 to make a purchase. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.
We keep the information we hold to a minimum, use reputable providers, and protect our accounts. That is most of what a small publisher can honestly promise.
No website or email system is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise. Please do not send us information you would not want stored in an ordinary email inbox, and in particular, please do not send us the names or personal details of members in your church's care.
We may update this page. The current version and its effective date will always be posted here. If we ever make a change that materially affects how we handle information you have already given us, we will email the people on our list rather than change it quietly.
For anything on this page, including a request to see, correct, or delete what we hold, write to us.
